Find assets you can actually ship
The library collects characters, environments, 3D models, textures, UI, sound effects, music and animation for game development. Every entry states its license first, so you know before you download whether you may use it commercially and how to credit it.

Licenses in one line each
- CC0
- Public domain. Use it anywhere, change it, sell games with it, no credit needed.
- CC BY
- Free for commercial use as long as you credit the creator the way they ask.
- Royalty-free
- Use it in your game without paying per copy, but you usually may not resell or share the raw files.
- Mixed
- A collection where each file carries its own license. Check each file; some forbid commercial use (CC BY-NC).
Game assets, answered
Can I use these assets in a commercial game?
Assets marked CC0 or Royalty-free can be used in commercial games. CC BY assets can too, as long as you credit the creator. Collections marked Mixed contain files with different licenses, and some (such as CC BY-NC) forbid commercial use, so check each file.
What does CC0 mean for game assets?
CC0 means the creator has given up their copyright as far as the law allows. You can use, change and sell games containing the asset without asking permission or giving credit, although a thank-you credit is always appreciated.
How should I credit a CC BY asset?
Name the creator, the asset title, the license (for example CC BY 4.0) and link the source, in your game credits or store page. Use the exact credit line the creator asks for when they give one.
Do I have to disclose AI-generated assets on Steam?
Yes. Since January 2024 Steam asks developers to disclose AI-generated content, both content made during development and content generated while the game runs. Keep a list of which assets were made with AI so the disclosure is accurate.
